The Mill Ballet School's Summer Ballet Intensive & Performance Workshop has grown to be a place where aspiring dancers can work closely with the outstanding faculty of The Mill Ballet School.  The goal of our program for every student is to give each individual a better insight into the art of dance.  With the focus being on ballet, students leave with a better understanding of placement and technique.  The exposure to other dance forms such as jazz and modern dance will help in the development of a versitile dancer.  Without the pressures of academic studies, students are able to make great strides in their dancing by concentrating entirely on their dance education. Every year the faculty is amazed at the level of progress each student makes. Throughout the workshop, dancers are able to share their love of dance, make new friends, and reach new goals.  The Mill Ballet provides a creative, inspiring, and supportive atmosphere in which dancers can study over the summer. Students in the 4 week program will not only undergo weeks of intensive dance training but will also spend the last 2 weeks working with choreographers on developing new works that will be performed by the students on Friday, August 8th.

Class size is limited to 20, enabling the teacher to reach every student in class. The faculty are dedicated to broadening each student's knowledge and understanding of dance.  Students receive the highest quality of dance training with individualized attention.  The morning curriculum will consist of floor-barre or pilates, ballet technique class, specialty class, pointe, or variations.  Afternoon curriculum will consist of character dance, theater, modern, and jazz or rehearsals.

View a slide show of our week 1 camp
July 7- July 11

August 11-August 15
Monday - Friday - 9 am - 3 pm
Ages 6 to 10
Junior Dance Camp was created to give young artistic students a chance to experience dance from learning the technique to performing it. All students are divided into level and age appropriate groups and will participate in a ballet, tap, jazz, improvisation, theater and mime classes. During camp students will see how their knowledge of dance technique can be used to create dances, also known as choreography. As their knowledge of dance grows so does their ability to create. Students will study some of the most famous full-length classical ballets as well as learn the origins and evolution of many forms of dance. The students will have the unique opportunity to help choreograph their own dance performance. The camp is theme based giving the students a story board or an idea in which to choreograph their dance. The theme of the first week is "Metamorphisis" and the theme of the second week is "Planting a Rainbow". Dance related activities cover topics such as music, costume, set and prop design. The goal of our camp is to provide a life-long memorable experience while enhancing each student's overall dance education and appreciation.

Students may register for one week or two weeks. At the end of each week, parents and siblings attend an afternoon performance showcasing the students accomplishments. Tuition is $350 for one week and $600 for two weeks. A $100 deposit and a $30 registration fee are due upon registration. The remaining balance is due before June 16th.
